Eligibility Criteria:

Minimum age of 16.

Proficiency in English.

Physical and mental capability to operate a drone safely.

Knowledge Test:

Pass the "Unmanned Aircraft General – Small (UAG)" exam.

Study FAA-provided materials.

Application Process:

Obtain an FAA Tracking Number (FTN) via Integrated Airman Certification and Rating Application (IACRA) profile.

Schedule and take the knowledge test at an FAA-approved center.

Complete FAA Form 8710-13 for a remote pilot certificate.

Registration:

Register drone with the FAA for $5, valid for 3 years.

Label drone with registration number.

Recurrency:

Complete online recurrent training every 24 months for knowledge recency.
